Pelini to get big hike in pay

LINCOLN — Bo Pelini will go into the Big Ten as the conference’s third-highest paid head football coach.

Pelini on April 6 signed a revised contract that pushes his total Nebraska compensation to $2.775 million for 2011. Annual raises of $100,000 already are scheduled that will take his salary to $3.175 million by 2015 — making him the first $3 million coach in university history.

Also, his revised contract states that his salary “may from time to time, at the discretion of the university, be adjusted upward without the necessity of a written amendment.”

Very true, but at least with this we can't say that lack of money was a factor. But you know i wonder if more is being swept under the rug though. Revised contract to put up with Harvey's comments after the Texas A&M game. The constant harassment from the media this past year. :sarcasm
