bomb threat at work tonight

wow it was crazy sort of:

this lady calls up three times saying there is a bomb in the building and we have ten minutes to boogy. The third and final call I receive and cannot believe it is true. Mainly because she is saying..."tick, tick, tick, whats that sound?" Then she says "hey their is a bomb in your building...." I am like "O'rly, what's your name?" She says "What for?" I say "So I can inform the police." She just hangs up saying "Boom!"

I decided to call the police and see what could be done. A moto cop and three squad cars show up and they evac us out of the store and proceed to rush in. I dunno if this is procedure but I would have sent a robot/doggy first. I guess they didnt take it seriously .

Sorry another dumb cop story experienced first hand.

 
dumb cop story or dumb service employee story???? Should have called after the first one!!! If anything at least it would have gotten you out of work!!! :blink:

 
Shortly after 9/11 while I worked at a restaurant. this manager I had would call the cops a say there was a bomb threat at the restuarant.{that is when he got fed up with trying to finish his work before the next shift came in} That generally kept us closed down for a couple of hours.

 
how would you have felt if there was a bomb and it went off after the first call and you survived but others didnt.

do yourself a favor and dont do that again, you have to take all threats like that seriously.

yeah it is a pain in the a$$ to evac everyone when it turns out to be a hoax but let the police do the investigations and find the caller and take care of it. i would rather call the police then the family of a fallen co-worker

 
It takes you three times before you call the police. Good thing it wasn,'t real and you never got the second call.

hey i got the third call...the first two went to another manager who was informing me of the situation as the last call came in...so technically i called the cops on the first call I recieved so humph! <_<

 
I work at the Sprint campus in Kansas City, we had a bomb threat about a year or so ago, they evacuated the entire campus, there were like 17,000 people working here at the time. That was crazy. It just happened that there was a car fire in one of the parking garages that morning so the decided to evacuate just incase it was related..

Well yea, that's true and that's why they evacuate people every time. I would be curious to see what the numbers are. Also, how many times has a place been bombed and there was no call. Seems kind of dumb to call if you really want the place full of people or something.
