Bo's new contract

*$100,000 for tying for the Legends Division title, without an appearance in the conference championship game (up $50,000).*$200,000 for reaching the Big Ten championship game (up $50,000)

*$350,000 for winning the league championship game (up $100,000).

In addition, Pelini would receive $150,000 if Nebraska reaches any bowl game (up $50,000) or $250,000 if it's a BCS bowl, which is a bonus not part of his previous deal.

He would receive $350,000 if NU reaches the BCS championship game (up $200,000) or $650,000 if the Huskers win the BCS crown (up $400,000).
I hope we end up paying Bo every single one of those bonuses. :)

Just wondering, does anyone know if those bonuses get added together or do you just get the highest one? What I mean is, say he wins his division, gets to the Big 10 title game and wins that. Would that be 550K or just the 350?

As I don't really know, but I would guess that it is both for what your talking about as it states in the National Championship he gets $XX for reaching or $XX for winning.

And I definitely got into the wrong profession.

i would guess its the highest one, that makes the most sense considering how most incentive based contracts are made up.

I would say Bo is pretty deserving of a raise, after taking us from 5-7 to back-to-back Big 12 Championship games.

Like it was stated new laws took away the incentive type bonuses for say Graduation rates so pay is more transparent. He was hitting those anyway so it was rolled up. I'm glad to see he got more money too. And I'm glad he gets a few more perks like the private jet. Whats best for this program isn't even in this contract. He got some "commitments" from the University to allow him to do his job easier too. Things we'll never really see. Which to me...is probably as important.

Just give him a 250 to 3 hundred thou, each year till he gets in the top five coaches categorie. That's what it will all come down to sooner or later. The guy is a winner. The longer his family grows into the community, the harder it will be to leave, and making a good living for your family is what most men strive for. Heres to a very long run BO :cheers

GBR!!!

I will personally pay Bo in Trident Layers to assure he will be at Nebraska until he retires.
