BTN Top Three At Each Position

BTN's picks for the best players in the conference at each position. Not a lot of Husker representatives.

RUNNING BACK1. Ameer Abdullah, Nebraska. He led the Big Ten in rushing last season with 1,690 yards and nine touchdowns. Could he pass the 2,000 yard mark this season? I wouldn’t put it past him.
WIDE RECEIVER3. Kenny Bell, Nebraska. He has put up solid numbers for three straight seasons and now he should be in store for a breakout senior campaign. A 70 catch, 1,000 yard season wouldn’t surprise anyone.
DEFENSIVE LINE2. Randy Gregory, Nebraska. Another returning All-Big Ten performer, Gregory led the Big Ten in sacks last season with 9.5. If he can built on that number, this guy could very well be an All-American this season.

I don't get why everyone thinks Calhoun is better than Randy. I watched a lot of Michigan State games last year and the guy never really stood out to me.

Preseason rankings don't mean a whole lot when your team is as young as ours is. What are they supposed to base their ranking on for some of our players? The Red/White game?

If we had a 2000 yard rusher and a 1000 yard receiver? That would be allllright.

They got the top two QB's right. Miller and Connor Cook are damn good. I was really impressed with Cook last season. I think he has a bright future. I don't get all the love for this Hackenburg. I think Armstrong finishes the season as the 3rd best QB in the BIG.

RB in the BIG is a talented spot this year. I think each of the top 3 is fairly equally talented. That race will come down to who has the better offensive line. Offensive line happens to be a big question mark for each of those teams I believe. Correction, Wisconsin returns a four starters if the info I found is correct. That may give Gordon the edge on the top spot by the end of the year. Minnesota's running back Cobb returns. He had 1200 yards rushing and has four returning starters on the offensive line. He could end up in this conversation by the end of the season.

Kenny Bell will only have as good of a season as TA and Beck have. We shall see. I'm really hoping Burtch becomes the go to guy in this offense as far as the WR position. Would also like to see JT break out.

Does Braxton Miller survive another year?

Serious question.
No...I don't think so.

Meyer uses him like it is a video game.

Basically if you are not built like Tebow you might have a hard time surviving in his offense when you play the big boys each week.
