According to the Daily Mail, for his 41st birthday on Dec. 4, Beyonce gave her husband the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, the upgraded convertible version of the world's fastest road car. The car sells in the $2 - $3 million range, a small price to pay for an automobile that can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds.

Beyonce had to order the vehicle a year in advance in order to ensure Jay-Z's membership in the Bugatti club. Other owners of the prestigious ride include Tom Cruise, Tom Brady, Simon Cowell and Chris Brown.

Canadian-born music producer Scott Storch also owns a Veyron (black on black), although recent financial troubles may soon make the insurance unaffordable.

The "car" has a 16 cylinder engine, four turbochargers, 987 horsepower and can reach a top speed of 407 km/h with the roof on and 349 km/h topless.

This strikes me as one of the reasons that many people hate us. 2 - 3 million for a car? Why not set up several scholarships for deserving kids, or aids or cancer research? What good is being able to get up to 100 in 2.7 seconds when there isn't anywhere that you can go that fast other than a race track. Makes me gag.

An awesome car. Weak write up though. For a true knowing of the car, get Top Gear season 9 and it has what it really can do.

As far as owning the car, the US is small on the list of buying such cars. There are more people overseas that buys these then Americans. Oh and trust me when I say that there are plenty of places off track that you can do this.

Maybe it's "the need for speed".

Sure, some people can get just as much or maybe even more of a good feeling by helping others, but that too can be wasted in an instant by a drunk driver or some disease.

It's great we still have a choice on how to spend our money.
