Manhattan, KS -- President George W. Bush hasn't seen the movie everyone's talking about these days.

Someone asked Bush at a question and answer session at Kansas State University if he'd seen "Brokeback Mountain," since he's a rancher and all. Bush said he hadn't.

The president, clearly caught off guard, hemmed and hawed when asked his opinion of the movie.

Bush -- after some hesitation, and laughter in the audience -- said he'd be glad to talk about ranching, but said he hasn't seen the movie.

The audience laughed some more, and Bush, who owns a ranch near Crawford, Texas, said he's heard about the film.

The guy who asked the question told the president, "You would love it. You should check it out."

"Brokeback Mountain" is a cowboy romance about two ranch-hand buddies who conceal a long homosexual affair from their families. The movie has won four Golden Globe prizes, including best picture honors in the drama category.

Doesn't that all seem a little Junior High to actually be a story? Some reporter had nothing better to ask?

"Oh jeez Billy, check this out I'm gonna ask the president if he saw that movie. When he says no I am going to say he should! tee hee. After that we'll go put more flaming bags of poop on people's porches. AWESOME!"

But you're forgetting:

"Someone asked Bush at a question and answer session at Kansas State University if he'd seen 'Brokeback Mountain'"

Looks to me like a student asked the question, not a reporter.

Follow-Up

Manhattan, KS -- One student wants to marry him, another is calling him "a total tool." Jeremy Parker is getting a mixed reaction to his asking President Bush if he'd seen "Brokeback Mountain."

The Kansas State University Campus Forum is full of reaction. One student wrote to Parker "you're my hero." Another "thanks" Parker for "embarrassing" their school. And another student wrote "I tried to imagine a bigger waste of space than Jeremy Parker. I got nothing."

Parker told "Inside Edition" that he asked the question because the ones that came before his were "boring" and he wanted to keep the president "on his toes."
