Carriker As defense coach

I'd sure like to see what Carriker could do working for Solich or Turner Gill. I don't think it would take him many years to gain the experience needed for a big time FBS coaching gig.

Most former husker players don't really understand football. They know what they were taught but that might not be what's done in a particular system in place today. That being said I know Adam and his wife's family in Brule. He would probably be a good S&C guy based on the things he's had to do to rehab.

Carriker needs to get inline behind Jason Peters and Grant Winstrom for the DL job.
We need to figure out some way that fans can butcher Carriker's name.

Corriker? Carrikter? Carrikers?
Seems to be a requirement for the second some of the fan base turns on them nowadays, eh?

In relation to the OP, Carriker has almost no qualifications to coach outside of being a former player. I'd like to see him go somewhere as an assistant (either high school or low-level college ranks) and see what he can do there if coaching is in his future.

Being a former player gives you a no guarantee of being a good coach, just as not having played doesn't mean you'll be a bad coach.

why not try him as a grad assistant?

I'm sure there's room on Frost's staff as either a GA or a DLine coach. That would be a great starting spot for him to get his coaching feet wet. Recruiting hot bed, NFL resume, great knowledge base. If he truly wants to coach, that could be a great fit for him.

Well, that's the starting point. OP suggested making him a defensive coach (aka a paid member of the staff).

He just needs to change his first name to some variation of Thomas.

this thing is Not even at rumor level yet.

look AT LEAST for former players who are linked to coaching
I don't think anybody's saying they heard that this might happen, or even that they think there's a chance that it ever will. I'd say it's more of a "what if" scenario.
