4. Carriker to the rescue: Adam Carriker could be a savior for the Rams at defensive tackle. With defensive end Jamaal Anderson off the board, Carriker was the natural pick at No. 13. Over the weekend, the Rams held a rookie minicamp, and Carriker was a revelation to coaches. What the Rams love about Carriker is how coachable he is. Last year, the Rams couldn't get defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy to do the proper techniques in helping them stop the run. They wanted him to wrestle blockers in a two-gap approach. He just wouldn't do it. Consequently, the Rams finished 31st against the run. Carriker is a technician. At Nebraska, the defensive linemen challenged one another to work well with their hands. Two-gapping isn't going to be a problem for Carriker. The Rams have been horrible stopping the run for years. During minicamp, Carriker offered hope.
Well done big man, WELL DONE.

This part is sort of bothersome:

How the hell would any team not know that about someone they were considering drafting that high? We hear all the time how teams speak to coaches, family members, friends, grade school teachers. I would think that Carriker's work ethic and acceptance of coaching would be one thing that wouldn't surpise them...

Probably for the attitudes and egos that many of the high draft picks carry....it is probably surprising and refreshing to get a guy that actually doesn't think he's king $hit.

I just hope he doesn't end up killing Richie Incognito before the season starts. lol. With him at DT and Richie at RG, they should see plenty of each other.

That would honestly be one helluva matchup to put them in the Oklahoma drill. They're HUGE, STRONG, AND fierce competitors...it's just that Richie has a temper problem. But none the less...that'd be awesome, I'd love to see that.

I think Adam could take him..................as a Rams fan I'm pumped about Carriker being out guy on defense. I can almost guarantee that he is going to start for us this next year. :bonez

take it in conjunction with what they said about the guy they had last year and you can see why its a revelation to them. unfortunately your predecessors affect the way you are perceived. good or bad.

I mentioned it because these two got into a fistfight during practice Carriker's rookie year, before Richie was kicked off the team... though I don't remember who actually won the fight.

Carriker will start. Unless he just for some reason, falls apart and sucks completely...he'll start opposite Little.

Carriker will start, but he won't be starting opposite Leonard Little as Little is the LDE and will play opposite James Hall who occupies the RDE slot.

Carriker is going into the primary UT spot and will shift over to NT in certain situations forming a rotating DT platoon with Jimmy Kennedy and LaRoi Glover that may also see action from Claude Wroten and Arkansas rookie NT, Keith Jackson .
