Cassidy

Did anyone else see Bo giving Cassidy a lecture on the sideline about blowing that assingment. Ameer was running the kickoff back and bo looked to see what was going on and Cassidy put his helmet on and ran! Bo turned back to yell at him some more and he was gone. Bo did a double take and looked like he was confused as to what happened i had to rewind that a few times just so I could see the look on Bo's face.

I don't think Cassidy will start through the season. I think we'll get a better athlete to take over for him.

I do like Stafford a lot, he's a hell of a player. I also like Osborne a lot, and would like to see both of them on the field together.

It's not so much about Cassidy being a poor athlete as it is blowing his assignment. I don't remember O'Hanlon being a particularly great athlete but he played the position well. Cassidy got beat twice on the same play, once the pass went out of bounds and the other time it was costly.

Remember all the grief O'Hanlon took early in 2009? People ripping him up one side and down the other. By the end of the season they were all jumping on the Matty-O bandwagon. I have nothing but faith in this secondary. There will be blown assignments here and there, we may lose a game or three because of them, but for the most part they'll be fine.

Jesus H. Christ, do you have to use *that* example, Knapplc? :)

That was a gut-punch of a game to remember, for all the wrong reasons...but I do remember the Matty-O bandwagon being quite full when the season ended.

Was this on Ameer's TD return? If not what quarter and time?

I'm gonna rewatch the game tonight and will be looking for this.

Mid 4th Quarter. The TV crew actually caught the full reaction and calls it out after the TD replay--Bo looked like he didn't know what the hell to think.

It wasn't just that game, though - O'Hanlon had a few busts in the first few weeks, and people were screaming for him to be benched. He ended up having a damned fine season. Round about the Oklahoma game, mysteriously, people stopped calling for his head. Wonder why?

I'm taking the same approach to Cassidy and BK and Green and every other guy struggling right now that I took with O'Hanlon in 2009: It's early. Give it time. It'll be OK.

Yeah how many picks did he have against OU that season?

This. He was getting bagged on all through 2008. 2009 didn't start well, and by Arkansas state he was getting blasted. After the VT game, he was getting crucified. After the OU and Holiday bowl, the same bashers (white shadow anyone?) were sad to see him go.
