Three-Star Recruit
Who cares if you like the hire or not. He is our coach everybody should be behind him instead of sitting back and bitching about it and coming back a couple years from now saying I told you it was a bad hire.
I love the hire. He could have left many times before and didn't. Nebraska was one of the few he would.Draw the line in the sand and pick a side.
Hopefully we get some good debate in here.
Mods, feel free to clean this up as you see fit.
That's going to happen when you make a habit of firing winners and hiring?????????An unfortunate side effect from the previous two coaches. Why do we need to be so divisive?
There's way more logic in his post than most of the stuff Polo wrote.Meh Polo was logical with his negativity, you're trashing this hire before Riley has even landed in LincolnI hope he does well, but I still think this was an awful move. The more I see, I'm convinced it is an awful move.
He has never achieved success anywhere he's ever been. Yeah, Oregon State was awful. So was Kansas State, and Snyder surpassed anything Riley can even dream of doing.
His single best record was 10-4. His teams these past few years have been absolutely awful.
He's nearing the end of his career. His old team's fans were happy to be rid of him.
Count me as a "nay" and the new Polo.
Major concern. All I've heard is that Beck threw too much and that in Lincoln we need a coach that utilizes the power running game, yet we hire a guy that has a history of throwing the ball all over the place and many seem to be ok with it.I worry about the type of offense he may want to run, but I think he may adapt to his players
Guys like Bill Snyder have proven that the small school in the middle of nowhere excuse is just another excuse.for those of you who don't like riley, i'd like to see how well you could do at oregon st.
(i say, with tongue firmly inserted into my cheek).
