Ciante Evans

The thought of how good Lavonte David could be next year is nothing short of frightening! That kid can flat out play ball man, WOW!

An absolute unbelievable performance by that kid last Saturday! He was thrown to the dogs, against a VERY good offense and they went at him time and time again and all he did was step up big every single time! I was REALLY nervous when Dennard went down, but this just goes to show you what kind of depth this team has all of a sudden and not only that, but that depth is not only paying attention in practice and film sessions, but they are also getting the COACHING they need to be ready if their name is called!

The things this team and this staff is doing right now is special folks! There are going to be some GREAT days ahead!

Good points!

It seems that this staff (with the possible exception of the OL) is able to take most any good athlete who has heart and is coachable --- and make them into anywhere from a good to a great college player. This is certainly true all across the defense and, for the most part (although to a lesser degree) the offense --- again save for the OL --- there the coaching is decent --- but not at the level of the other coaches who can take and get maximum performance out of any willing athlete.
Are you kidding?

Our Oline has made HUGE strides this year. Their pass blocking has been very, very good and the run blocking steadily improving.

I would argue that this has mostly yet to show up on the offense, period, and that it is pretty much mostly in the DBs at this point.

We have had our struggles at LB so much that we just replaced one or two of them with DBs. That's also a sign of our DB development though. DL has been solid - but nothing spectacular yet, outside of Suh. Promising, though not as extraordinary a story as the DBs have been.

On offense, we really don't have much. A couple of good prospects have played solidly, and Taylor's been a surprise with how we fit the offense around his electric running. But OL, WR, even RB: we're not seeing that same storyline as we are in the secondary. We have Rex, who was a solid 4-star, but D-tray has been underwhelming. At WR, it seems any outstanding athlete goes there to languish in obscurity (and this has been true for QUITE some time, extending beyond the current staff). OL never should have stunk to begin with, and we've yet to see a lot of real success with new guys, even in Year 3. But it is building in that direction, hopefully, now that Barney is cleaning up his act.

So really, I think it's the secondary, which is VERY promising considering how many seniors we lose this year. I'm excited to be able to reload there, because we've depended a lot on them and will continue to.
