Classic Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich:
2 Sub buns, 10 inch long
1 lb. Raw roast beef, shaved thin
(our butcher partially freezes a beef roast and slices it on his deli meat slicer)
1 large white onion
Cheese Whiz
Butter
Vegetable Oil
Pepper to taste
Split sub buns lengthwise and lightly toast insides on pan in 1 TBSP butter. Thinly slice the onion into half rings and place into a heated pan with 2 TBSP of butter. Cook until soft. Remove onions and set aside. Add 2 TBSP of vegetable oil to pan and fast fry the beef slices until cooked.
Assembly:
Spread Cheese Whiz on both sides of sub bun, place beef on the bun, then the onions on beef.
You can add others toppings if desired like Jalapeno Peppers and mustard.
