Something that amused me when Penn State hired Matt Campbell was how many people were saying that Iowa State is the worst job in the Big 12, and he made them sorta not awful sometimes.
Too many people are still thinking of the Big 12 as a power conference. It's not. And within the Big 12 as it exists today, Iowa State is a top-tier program. Among Big 12 teams on that list, they're #4 out of 16 schools in valuation. This article from last year had them at #1 for estimated NIL budget (though presumably Texas Tech is #1 this year). They're #3 for average attendance.
