College Football is cyclical

International Man of Mystery
The SEC took a LOOOOOONG turn at the top, and Alabama may again win the National Championship, but the Big Ten is, this year at least, the best conference top-to-bottom - at least, so saith Colley Rankings.

Notice how we hear less and less how people want to go back to the Big XII? We may end up there again, if the Big XII lasts long enough to cycle back on top.

Cyclical? Are you saying Princeton, Yale, and Harvard will one day be dominate again?

Army, Notre Dame, Oklahoma (twice), So Cal, Nebraska (twice), Miami and Alabama have all had their run at the top. Dynasties fade as assistants move on and head coaches go pro or retire. Rarely does the successor match the record of the old head coach.

People like Gary Sharpe were saying the B1G was the best conference last season, too, and then bowl results made that seem laughable.

Going back the Big 12 now would be like dumping your new awesome girlfriend that is super hot, funny, smart and your friends all like, and going back to your annoying Ex GF that has put on weight, had a couple kids with some random dude and still doesn't respect you and only wants you for added stability to her sh**ty existence.
