CollegeFootballNews.com:Nebraska Preview 2012

In 2010 the Huskers struggled up front, finishing last in the Big Ten in tackles for loss coming up with just 60 tackles for loss. Last year, the pass rush was even worse with even few hits on the quarterback while finishing dead last once again the Big Ten in tackles for loss. The defense won’t be more aggressive this season, but it needs Cameron Meredith and Baker Steinkuhler up front to start making more big plays.
We won't get better until this is addressed. I thought we'd be significantly better last season than 2010. But our D-line seemed to get worse. Let's hope Kaz can turn it around for us.

/btw, What's up with that Scout article. It's damn near impossible to cut-and-paste text. Weird.

Of course, not a single word about our WR's dropping balls everywhere for the last three years. As always "Z. Lee & Tmart S*CK"!!

Haha....until we get a qb who sews the ball (and then super glues it) on the WR's numbers it will never change. Let's just continue blaming it on our qbs. They s*ck!!!!

Yeah, I tried to post a portion, and gave up.

...let it go man... :P

From reading the article, the guy makes some solid points that I agree with. He almost sounds like a closet Husker fan hehe, yet he is realistic and provides significant facts that support his claims. I'm telling ya...NEB can win 10 in the regular season this year. NEB has the tools to do so, 1-2 losses....that's it. I haven't been this confident in the team in awhile....I just feel things are coming together with the "process." NEB can get over the hump and have a great season, which I consider 10+ wins a great season. Now....a real quick comment on the defense, one of two things need to happen: Either the d-line needs to stop playing the "2-gap" system and be let loose, ie. more aggressive to the QB, OR are linebackers and secondary will need to be complete studds so we can get back to 2010 defensive form (we won't be as good as 2009, sorry...SUH made a whole world of difference). I'll take the ladder will happen and I'm seeing some great potential from the secondary, yet I still have question marks with the linebackers except for Compton. He will hold his own and do well IMO.

I am hoping that the offensive line has improved, not just coach speak, but actual development. If that happens, we will have a shot at being a great team Chaddy, if not, this is going to be a long season for us.

It is time for the Oline to start playing together, in control, they have enough coaches working with them. If they do not move forward this year to become a good Oline it is not going to happen with Cotton in charge.

The article seems very fair to Nebraska, glimmers of hope all the way through.

I do concur....along with Knappic's comments....the o-line and d-lines just need to start playing better or we won't be a team that goes to the BIG10 championship.

In 2010 we were still in the Big 12 weren't we?

I tried to click the links and I get a blank white page.

Meh, it's CFN. They're too good to proofread--have been for years.

If anything, this error means their preview is rendered moot, the Cowboys will win the Super Bowl, Elvis was abducted by Charles Manson, and Nebraska will beat the Lakers in six for the Stanley Cup.

You forgot about the Chicago Cubs winning the Triple Crown.

Didn't they also say Tiger Woods was going to beat Floyd Mayweather Jr.?

If anything points towards the the team being better this season, its the O-line from the fruition of the great line classes we had 2011 - Price, Reeves, Klatchko, Moore, Sterup, 2010 - Moudy, Rodriguez, 2009 - Sirles, Coffey, Qvale.

There are some ballers in there, that on talent/brute physical force alone, they are going to win a game or two for us this year. I would like to think that with any semblance of coaching, we could get at least a few beasts out of that group. Which should translate to an improved and more consistent offense.
