Collins: "no more hesitant play."

What does "no more hesitant play" even mean? isn't this why Banker's teams get beat by spread teams handily?
More of a knock on the instructions that the D Line had from the previous coaching staff. You're a defensive lineman, not a linebacker. Don't go two yards upfield then stop your rush. Too much Bo not wanting to get burned by an athletic QB who, eventually, got lucky and found someone wide the hell a**ed open.

Dumbest thing I ever saw.

Prior to Taylor's game winner.....there was a HUGE sack by Suh.

Hesitant play, my friends.

Worked pretty good in that game besides 1 play with a blown coverage. It is very common not just by Bo to build a box and contain rush and athletic QB. Especially if you are a Man or Match up coverage team. Make an athletic qb who cant throw and try and beat you all day with his arm. If you pure speed rush a guy like him he will run all over you which is playing into his skill set.

I guess I watched a different spring game where bush was always hurrying throws and running for his life

Yeah, but when there's no one between either of your 4 rushers and the qb, for the love of god, GO TACKLE THE SUMBITCH!!!

"eh. worked pretty good all game except for one play". Braxton Miller, Denard Robinson, the juggernaut Cain Colter, Russel Wilson, Vince Young, El Roberson, Brad smith all say otherwise.

And why give a running style qb an easy out with matchup coverge? Why not sit in a zone and force him into something uncomfortable if our not gonna rush him? Like making him stand in the pocket and read and manipulate coverages and throw the ball into a window. This is the contradicting philosophies that drove so many folks insane.

Exactly.

I'm with alexhortdog, that was one of the dumbest things i've ever seen. That hesitation also gave McCoy just enough time.

You make mobile QBs beat you with their arm, that's correct, that is the right philosophy. That doesn't mean you give their WR's all day to run and find an opening. You don't stop and play pattycake on the defenive line, and wait to see what the guy does? What the hell kind of philosophy is that? I've been so sick of watching it I wanted to rip the TV off the wall. Get the damn guy!

You make him beat you with his arm by putting 8 guys in the box, put your DB's up in the WR's faces, and you make that QB make quick decision and make a perfect throw. Freaking Danny Weurffel couldn't do it and he's twice the college QB of Tyrod, or McCoy AND he had better WR's.

Hell, forget the Florida example, that Blackshirts defense was legendary......how about every defense since the beginning of time? I've never seen any other defene like that in my life.

If it was so genius, how come one of the scariest runners at QB I've seen, named Taylor Martinez, didn't have every defense he faced playing pattycake? No, instead, every worthy defense we played pinned their ears back, loaded the box, and came after his a$$. We watchd every other team do it to us, yet refused to follow suit.

I won't miss it, at all.

I'm just waiting though, because aggressive defense will be vulnerable to a big play. The first big pass over the top of this year's defense and it will be " see, I told you what aggressive defene will get you, I miss Bo....blah blah....."
