AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas freshman quarterback Colt McCoy, knocked out of the No. 11 Longhorns' loss to Kansas State with a shoulder and neck injury, has been cleared to play this week against Texas A&M, coach Mack Brown said Monday.

McCoy suffered a stinger while scoring a touchdown in the first quarter of the 45-42 loss. He has a school-record 27 touchdown passes for the Longhorns (9-2, 6-1 Big 12), who must win Friday to secure a berth in the conference championship game.

Brown said offensive lineman Justin Blalock, who has started 49 consecutive games, has also been cleared to play against the Aggies. Blalock left the Kansas State game in the third quarter with a knee injury.

It's beginning to lean more in favor of UT winning the South.

An injury that he had may not hurt him physically, but he could be bothered mentally during the next game. He might be hesitant to get hit again or he could come back tougher than he was before. It will be interesting to see how he responds.

I think this spells disaster for the Aggies and the Sooners...............my gut feeling tells me that we will see Texas again on Dec. 2nd in KC........ :bonez

Hehe, I think McCoy got killed out there. Anyways, GREAT WIN AGGIES! You guys deserve it after all the frustration you've been going through the last few weeks
