Coming up to the OSU/NU game

Good morning, everyone,

Some friends and I are making the trip up to Lincoln for the OSU/Nebraska game. We're all excited to make the trip - Nebraska is one of the venues where I've always wanted catch a game. We love seeing what other schools/fans do for pre-game festivities. Where's the best place(s) to hangout before the game? The last time I was in Lincoln, I had some most excellent beer at...can't remember the name of the place...but the beer was Empyrean, I believe.

Have you all heard what time the game starts?

Thank you, sir. While I am excited about going to the game, the last 40+ years of the history of OSU/NU does not make me very optimistic about the outcome. OSU defense; good for what ails your offense. Whew.

I just checked on the Big 12 schedule site looking for the game time and if it's on tv. As of now, there is no tv and no announced time. One person posted on an OSU site that they saw a tentative time somewhere of 11:30am. I really hope that is not the case...

I would hope that if you guys take care of Mizzou and we somehow get out of College Station, the game will get picked up and be at a good time.

I try to get something to eat before games at Lazlo's, the micro brewery in Haymarket area. They have Empypean beer on tap too.

Another member just posted the game will be an 11:30 kick and will be on PPV. He provided a link but I haven't checked it out.

If you're staying for a couple days, make sure to find your way to Runza's and snatch one up. Val's is a great place for pizza. My advice if you plan on staying in Lincoln is just to take it all in. We have a beautiful campus and the Downtown area (believe it or not) is quite entertaining. The Haymarket is a cool place to spend some time.

Don't get me wrong, Lincoln is no happenin' city, but neither is Stillwater haha. Lincoln is a great town with great people...so just take it all in.

Hehheh. I like Lincoln. A friend of mine lived in Omaha several years ago. Went up for a visit, drove to Lincoln, and stopped by the stadium. It was closed, but a guard there let us in. "I just want to see the site of all the beatings handed to us over the years." Nice guy. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised at Lincoln. Definitely more to do there than in Stillwater. I had no idea what a Runza was, so I looked it up. Man, that is one monster sandwich thing.

Thanks for the information and link at top - eskimopie and I were both looking for the same information, so I appreciate you making the effort to get more ideas for us. Yes, Lazlo's, that's the place I was thinking of. Thanks! Mmm, good beer!
