Comparing Nebraska's most colorful coaches of late

I'll 2nd that, good post.

Im all in him in most aspects. But another sub par year probably wont cut it for me. Unless of course there is a rash of injuries or bad officiating. Then 9-4 is totally acceptable.

Boy that kinda sounds crappy when I type it out. #YOLO

Im a Husker fan. Go big Red. Not Go Big Bo. Sorry, but this has always been my sentiment. And I believe at this point keeping Bo and standing behind- not just because "he's our coach for next year anyway"- but literally standing behind him and supporting him is in the best interest of the program I love.

It is entirely possible to support the football team and athletic department, pay the necessary booster money to get a guaranteed seat or two at a home game next year, root for the team, hope they do well, and generally enjoy the Nebraska experience (and it is truly awesome) while questioning what our coach is doing and hoping hes fixing the problems even the casual fans see all the while.

I'm probably going to prove this point for the Miami and Fresno st game. Hell, if there's a huskerboard party I might even do it for the spring game. (Knapplc cant come, you guys)

Lol. There's a difference between questioning the coaching staff and calling for the regime change of a 9/10 win coach.

You've had quite a bit of fun complimenting your fandom and insulting my intelligence in your past few replies. Is there any actual, real data or evidence in the future to support your point?

I haven't complimented my own fandom thanks. Just pointing out that you're not being realistic.

So, what, am I supposed to be a fortune teller or something? Nobody can be 100% certain of what the future holds.

I'm not being realistic in thinking a coach who promised championships should maybe deliver in one of the easiest AQ conferences and schedules out there? Ok.

No, not being able to question the coaches without whining ad nauseam for regime change is not being realistic.

Stay on topic, plz.

Promised them?
Of course. You must be new around here, we ARE Nebraska, it's our birthright.
***NEW TALKING POINT ALERT***

Bo said that he was here to win championships. However, he did not set a time frame to do that, nor did he promise anything. So, do not hold him to that standard.

You know, Polo, I agree with an awful lot of what you say, but even I'm getting tired of this schtick.

Every coach comes in promising championships. Somewhere down the line. It's what they do.

You don't come in to a hungry fanbase and announce that you're here for incremental improvement that may be slow and painful. You get them excited and put your own a$$ on the line. That's what Bo Pelini has done. I haven't seen any posters claiming they're fine with the status quo. Bo isn't fine with it, either. That's why he's on the razor's edge of getting fired and everybody knows it. He likely has only one season left to prove it on the field. Everybody gets that, too, so I'm unclear who you are trying to convince with your prolific posting.

Every season Nebraska will be going up against at least three Big Ten programs who also believe championships are their birthright.

You seem to believe that winning a championship is as simple as wanting it.

Are you suggesting the standard to which we are holding Bo Pelini is not sufficiently high?

That I can type fast?

As of right now I feel that the bowl win incorrectly convinced Bo & co that the status quo was working. As a result, no staff changes were made, something that the majority here thought was a fait accompli. Sure there's a pr thing going on, but that in of itself is going to harbor exactly zero change of the field of play.

Fumbles. "They're working on it. Have been for years". Well there hasn't been much improvement. Maybe with Taylor gone there will be a drop off. They would suck, I loved Taylor and he gets blamed for enough.

Basically I do not like the renewal of Kool-aid drinking, changing nothing and expecting different results, and so on. I'm guessing the "ESPN/yahoo sports/Herbstriet/CBS Sports hates us! How are we not picked to win" should crop any day now. So I'm just trying to have some discussion on the counterpoint. Most seem happy to do so, others are chasing me down writing as fast as the can. Sometimes I get caught up into it. My bad.

/word vomit.
