As of right now I feel that the bowl win incorrectly convinced Bo & co that the status quo was working. As a result, no staff changes were made, something that the majority here thought was a fait accompli. Sure there's a pr thing going on, but that in of itself is going to harbor exactly zero change of the field of play.
We have a new defensive backs coach, and two new non-coaching full-time staff positions for recruiting, so saying there have been no staff changes is erroneous. Even if it wasn't, who would you change? Who isn't doing their job well? This is an honest question - what changes would you make based on the on-the-field product being incontrovertibly due to poor coaching? The only answer I can think of is special teams, and we have heard numerous times that Els isn't on an island coaching that, that a lot of different coaches have input, and that they are going to look hard at the glaring issues such as punt return.
Fumbles. "They're working on it. Have been for years". Well there hasn't been much improvement. Maybe with Taylor gone there will be a drop off. They would suck, I loved Taylor and he gets blamed for enough.
What do you want here? Less fumbles? We all want that. The coaches want that. They
HAVE been working on it. Do you not remember the towels? Do you not remember the backs carrying footballs to class ala The Program? The tracking of every fumble in practice? Do you actually understand that coaches are not gods that can impose their omniscient wills on their players? It is an imperfect profession and even the absolute best coaches have tons of things outside the realm of their control.
Basically I do not like the renewal of Kool-aid drinking, changing nothing and expecting different results, and so on.
So you don't like optimism, which is either hilarious or sad, but either way very telling, and you think that nothing has changed.
Nevermind our replacement DBs coach, our two new additional recruiting staff members, our increased use of private planes, a new director of football operations, self-evaluation of special teams, Jamal Turner taking reps at QB, completely new offensive verbage and terminology, and whatever other stories will come out of spring and fall camp. Those don't count. Nothing has changed.
But then I wonder, if the news articles and stories about things that have changed don't count, what are you basing your assumption of "no change" on? Because as far as I know you only consume public info and are not in North stadium or Hawks Champion Center to be privy to any internal discussions or changes in assignments, roles and philosophies. It's not as if you think that the entirety of the situation is only defined by what you personally know as an outsider and that there couldn't possibly be a breadth of knowledge that you have no clue about. So if you're not blessed with inside information, and the public releases of information don't count, then I'm failing to see where your basis of argument is coming from???
So I will ask, sincerely - what makes you think nothing has changed?
Once again, I genuinely do not see you make a single point of substance whatsoever.
