Compton "Throwing the Bones"

There ought to be a rule that states no one can throw the bones until the whistle blows. On both instances in question the play wasn't even over yet and Compton started celebrating. I'd rather see him trying to jump on that fumble than throwing the bones. Or finishing off that sack he whiffed on, that somebody else had to clean up for him.

After the whistle blows, have a blast.

But to celebrate for something you are already tasked with doing in the first place? I mean, do you get up, throw the bones, and dance around whenever you successfully complete your expected tasks as Moderator of these boards?

yes!

Don't know if you guys realize this, but every time we check the Active Reports list or move a thread, that's what we do.
BTW, Zoogies, forgot to properly thank you for the laugh.

A question, though--is this dance pre- or post- Shawarma for you and Earth's Mightiest Moderators?

I don't think some of you people watched the same game. I believe Will threw the bones and pounded his chest when the score was 0-0 and 7-7. Um i'm pretty sure that means you are worthy of throwing bones at that point. I don't believe it was done in second half

I was at the game and remember a 4th quarter bones throw by Compton, after which all the Husker fans kind of looked at each other with a curious look on their faces.

I know this is a thread about Compton's bones, but how come nobody is talking about Maher in any of these discussions? He's 3/6 on the year and has two sub-20 yard punts. If he made that field goal to put us up 30-27 we might have pulled that out. With our defense as bad as it is, we need every point/yard we can get from our special teams.

I hear he got married in the offseason and might have lost his mojo.

Will Compton is a starting senior middle linebacker. He's the "leader" of the defense.

By definition, he gets to decide when throwing the bones is appropriate. It's his and his defense's tradition, not "ours".

Kinda like when the Pope can say something, Catholics gotta believe he's speaking the truth.

Compton is the equivalent of the Pope in this scenario.

He has "Blackshirt Infallibilty"
the worst, best option at LB we have ever had at nebraska.

You have no idea how sad you just made Corey McKeon with that comment. None.

i apologizefor being a stickler. I watched the replay several times, and the only thing i saw in the 4th quarter was a well deserved "non bones" celebration after pushing ucla out of field goal range, giving us another chance for offence. prior to the interception

Didn't Maher win Big Ten special teams player of the week or something this past week? Despite the loss, he made some good kicks (as well as the misses, some of which may have been on the holder). I think he was highlighted for that clutch long kick at the end of the half.

I agree with the above about the times in the 4th quarter when our defense made big stops. They really kept us in the game in that second half, with that one shockingly bad play aside.

This thread is nothing but this. :dunno :dunno :dunno :dunno :dunno :dunno :dunno :dunno :dunno :dunno

and for some. :leghump: :leghump: :leghump: :leghump: :leghump: :leghump:
