Conditioning

I am I

All-Conference
I've stressed it in a few threads but havent got much support.

I think our boys are VERY well conditioned. We have worn out every single one of our opponents except WI.

Some may say sparty was tired from 4 straight weeks or whatever, but to me, its obvious that we tire out our opponents and have won the 'gas' war, no doubt. We have a very fast pace and pound the ball a lot, and we have OUTLASTED our opponents

Big ups to our heart and conditioning!

I heard a similar comment from one of the players on the post game interviews. He gave props to Dobson.

There is no doubt that the no huddle is allowing them to wear on teams this year in the 2nd half. Dobson earned every cent of his paycheck in the way he conditioned the team this year.

It didn't hurt that the defense only played 1 series in the 3rd quarter.

Rex and the boys played keep away all day.

Kept em pretty fresh for crunch time.

These are healthy young men with a week off. What happened last week (outside of injuries) should not effect the conditioning of the players - yes I am talking to you announcers. Mental can have a toll.

We've known for several years now that Dobson does a great job. That might be why it's not really a big deal now.

Also, the fact that, for the first time in YEARS, we have a glaring advantage (although it showed in the b12 also), especially w Beck's offense pushing the PACE, a clear conditioning advantage in all our games.

I noticed it first against Fresno. Unlike Oregeon whom just pushes play after play after play, we push 'tempo' while still pounding the ball ...I think there is a difference between pace and plays ....we are physical, pounding, and pace.

Not just fast plays.

Basically, we are wearing teams DOWN, albeit in a diferent way than the 90s

I really believe that the Huskers will make the Big 10 a better conference as a whole, solely because of the conditioning factor. It won't take them long to figure out what we are doing right, and do it themselves. I think the Big 12 learned that lesson from us back when it was still the Big 8...and then the teams that come in did also if they weren't doing what the Huskers were. If you want to be a top tier team...you have to be able to compete for 4 quarters.
