Cotton Bowl victory

No doubt.

Michigan was a great win, but he needs to get that next win over someone major so people will stop thinking of the Huskers as that nice little team from the plains and start thinking of them as a team to be respected and feared.

A season-ending win over Auburn would be great for that.

imo, Auburn is better than A&M and this game will have a much higher national profile to it. The A&M game will be the best road win of his tenure regardless, but we've yet to beat an opponent the caliber of the Tigers.

I don't know if we can just have a self proclaimed signature win. We just need to let it happen and then sit back and realize that "wow, that was a big win for Callahan."

Agreed. A signature win is such only in hindsight. It depends on the level of sucess subsequently. For example, assume Huskers win - but then go 5-7 next year. Conversly, assume the Huskers win, then next year go 11-1 or 12-0. Then it becomes a signature win...

If we win, I think we will be the sexy pick for "dark-horse" national champ.
This might be going a little far. A couple of ESPN broadcasters (can't remember who) picked Iowa to win the Big Ten. Corso picked Cal as national champs.

Didn't work out so well for them...

Very good point. I hadn't looked at it that way.

The bowl game would be a huge win, but it's hard for me to say that any win will be a signature win.........When we start beating teams like USC, UT, OU on a consistent basis or at least competiting with them consistently I think I would tend to lump a lot of stuff together and say that these are big wins.........I can't just pick out one...............unless it's a NC
