Could four Big 12 North teams head to the Big East???

All-American
With all of the Conference expansions going on and rumors flying there and rumors flying here got me thinking. Obviously the Big 10 is expanding and Nebraska will probably be the first ones to be invited in. There have been other Unversities names thrown out in the mix as well Ex: Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, and Mizzou.

Lets say the Big 10 add 3 teams which are Nebraska, Rutgers, and Syracuse. So the new Big 10 would look like this:

- Ohio State............. - Michigan State

- Michigan............... - Minnesota

- Wisconsin.............. - Illinois

- Penn State............. - Indiana

- Purdue................. - Northwestern

- Iowa................... - Nebraska

- Rutgers................ - Syracuse

So the Big East would lose two schools and then they would be down to 6 schools altogether. By adding 4 schools like Iowa State, Kansas, K-State, and Mizzou I believe that it would work geographically and could strengthing that Conference. They could also add other teams like Baylor and TCU. I think this move for the Big 12 North teams would be better than heading west to the Mountain West or the WAC. So the new Big East Conference could look like this

- Pittsburgh............. - Iowa State

- West Virginia.......... - Kansas

- South Florida.......... - K-State

- Connecticut............ - Mizzou

- Cincinnati............. - Louisville

- Baylor................. - TCU (maybe)

What if the remaining Bix XII teams keep the conference alive - to preserve the BCS bid?

The BCS bid could be very powerful.

They could add from the Big East and MWC plus Boise State.

You could mix and match with - WVa, UConn, Pitt and South Florida.

You do make a really good point and I didn't really think of that. The Big East could very well lose 3-4 teams to the Big Ten and that'll only leave them with 4-5 teams left in that conference and a possibility of those remaining schools looking elsewhere in heading to another conference. With the Big 12 losing two teams (Colorado and Nebraska) they could add the remaining Big East schools to almost form their Superconference.

Oh well this stuff is getting very interesting and confusing but all I know is that we're heading to the Big 10 and thats all I care about.

No way this would ever happen. You guys are forgetting about all the teams in the Big East that only play basketball. If the Big East lost 3 football/bball schools and then added 4 or 5 football/bball schools it would push the conference team total in bball to 17 or 18 teams. Not gonna happen.
