Credit to the Big XII

I guess this is a credit to Nebraska as well as the rest of the Big XII.

Ivan Maisel's 3 point Stance

Thursday, July 27

1. Neither Florida nor Alabama wants to move its Sept. 2 night game to the 12:30 p.m. slot for the SEC's regionally televised games. Why? It's kind of hot right around then. But neither the conference nor the network plans on showing a test pattern that afternoon. So which school blinks?

2. Iowa State center Scott Stephenson transferred from Minnesota. Stephenson said Big 12 football is faster than the Big Ten, and the stadiums louder. "At Nebraska, I couldn't hear my guards making calls," he said. "I couldn't hear (quarterback) Bret (Meyer)." Maybe that's a commentary on Gopher fans.

3. We lined up three deep around Adrian Peterson on Wednesday, and the Oklahoma junior is clearly more relaxed around the media than he was as a freshman. Peterson revealed that his goal for this season is 2,200 yards, but he wouldn't declare himself the Heisman favorite. He has figured out that just because the writers ask a stupid question doesn't mean he has to answer it.

I like the sound of that. Doesn't surprise me at all that Husker Nation was that loud that day on that exciting game...you could tell even from home watching it on tv how loud it was.

I only went to one game last year, but I heard that some of the games were the loudest in years because how close the games were. I heard that was especially true about the Tech game. Was that true?

I went to the Pitt game. I lost my voice and all the people around me cuz I was going crazy. I don't think I've ever felt Memorial Stadium shake like that.

i was at the KSU game, and I dont know if I have ever heard the stadium as loud as it was when the Blackshirts where holding KSUcks at the end of the game

I had to listen to both ISU and ksucks on the radio. I could tell the crowd helped the players out with the energy that was coming from the stands. :restore

If we win, do you think there would be a chance that the goal posts could come down? It doesn't really ever happen, but I remember watching a tape of the 92 CU game and they did because we finally beat someone good again. Texas is a powerhouse, and the defending champs.

We've had this discussion before but, I don't think we will take down our own goal posts. Now if we were in Texas I think we would!!! ;)
