Wats called a pretty good game.

I liked the wildcat look. More than that I liked the 2 back set out of the shotgun and the option play that came out of it.

I agree. He mixed it up nicely.

Also have to give credit to the O-line too. That was the best I'd seen them play against a BCS caliber opponent this year.

Last night Watson called his best game ever. I've been anti-Watson since he was hired. However last night he showed us all he might not be as stubborn as he comes off. There is hope for an open playbook and calling plays to the strength of the players on the field.

In watchng last nights game one would be hard pressed to find much, if anything, NU didn't do well.

I have to admit that I'd been feeling bad about Watson this year, but with this game and the revelations about injuries and the like, I'm feeling more generous now. The fact that Bo had his back all season long also tells you something.

As to a flawless performance by the team, it would be impossible not to agree on the defensive side of the ball, but on offense we still have a ways to go. Don't get me wrong, I aint complaining, but since you brought it up...

My #1 complaint would be that they weren't finishing drives all the time -- too many field goals. Admittedly this fits with the way they've been winning this year, not taking too many chances and relying on the best D in college football. Still, our title teams from the 90's might have hung 60 points on those guys last night.

Let's not forget the defense they were playing against. I believe Arizona had the 2nd best D in the Pac-10. Also, Mike Stoops is still considered a God in OU with many fans hoping and praying Arizona someday fires him so that he'll rejoin his brother Bob back at OU as their D coordinator. Our offense hit them in the mouth with things we haven't really seen much all year. Lee probably ran the ball more last night than he did in all the previous games this season combined. Also, we passed to the TEs which again we didn't do much of all season long. Other than one WR falling down all the time, the offense gelled together as a unit and played their best ball of the season. This is still a work in progress. It's just nice to see them put the perfect game together for their last game of the year sending Suh, Turner, and the rest of the seniors out with a nearly perfect game.

Absolutely right. It was a *very* satisfying performance. Running from the QB and getting the TE's involved was fabulous. Mix in the Wildcat and the reverse and they were making great use of the talent they had (and in Lee's case, bringing out some talent I didn't even realize they had).

Why I loved the game plan and the further you get away from the west coast the better, but Nebraska still had to settle for to many fg in the game.

I'm curious, he "acknowledged what he had" TWICE mid-season and made changes to his philosophy; how do you qualify that as "stubborn"?

Well - he knew what he had last spring yet didn't change things UNTIL past the mid-way point of the season. Even with Lee's injury, it still took him longer than what it should have to make the necessary changes.

Those QB sneaks were SOLID PUSHES by the O Line... it was AWESOME to see Cotton SCREAMING at the FS culprit.

IMO that was the best play calling of Watson's time here...mixing it up...keeping them off balance..getting TE's involved...short passing..a few deep throws...

No doubt. Maybe the time off was what Lee needed for his arm to somewhat get better which allowed Watson to open things a lot more than he had all season.
