Crick double-teamed

Last year, when Suh was double-teamed Crick was the guy who was able to capitalize the most. Who is the heir-apparent to Crick to capitalize this year? Baker?

honestly I wont be surprised if teams approach us differently this year and we see less productivity out of the tackles because of that. So I'll be different and say Cam Meredith or a LB like Martin.

The concern I have about Steinkuhler and Crick together is they're both so tall. Pad level is going to be crucial this year - keep them low and our guys may be productive. If they get high... it'll be tough.

Cam Meredith is the guy I think everyone will be surprised about this year. He's got legit skills coming off that end.

I agree about the d-line, but put me in the minority that thinks Compton will keep his starting spot ahead of Martin, which should give him an edge in the stat department.

Meredith all the way. I think he's ready to blow up. New question: With how good the secondary (mainly corners) are going to be, do we see more blitzes next year? If so, I'd love to see Martin on that MIKE blitz that Dillard sacked Landry with when we played OU. I can also see Prince being a big blitzing threat. They layed off the corner blitz last year after we got burned too many times using it against KU, I'd like the see that back again.

I really hope so. I loved it when Charlie would light up some QB with his blitz packages in the 90s.

Teams saw how disruptive our DT's were last year. I would expect to see some delay blitzs for Martin or some safety blitz for Smith or Thearnse if they are doubling Stein or Crick constantly.

Yes, that is IF they are being double teamed. While Crick, Stienkuler, Moore, & Co. are unquestionably talented, I think it has yet to be seen whether any of them can command the kind of attention from opposing offenses that SUH was able to. I'm not saying someone won't emerge, I'm just saying until the season starts and the bullets start to fly we won't really know how dominate this D-line will be.

IIRC we had a lot of gutsy Nickel blitzes...or maybe that wasn't from last year. I know Hagg did a nice job with that against Clemson.
