Crockpot Roast Beef:

I made this for dinner last night with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn. It Is the best roast I have ever made. I will only use a chuck roast because it always turns out so tender.

I have the roast in the crockpot by 8:30 a.m. and I let it cook on low until we are ready to eat for dinner which is way later than 6 p.m. but you could eat it at 6 p.m. or whenever you are ready.

I floured a chuck roast and lightly browned it in a little olive oil on both sides.

I put the chuck roast in the crockpot and added some sliced white onions and garlic around the roast and some on top of the chuck roast. I covered the top of the chuck roast with Lipton Beefy Onion Soup Mix.

I poured 2 cans of beef broth in and 1 can of French Onion Soup; put the lid on and let it cook until we were ready to eat later that night.

To make the gravy, I melt 1/2 cup of butter in a skillet until it is melted and then I add 1/2 cup flour and whisk some more. I add 2 cups beef broth to it and some milk, kitchen bouquet, salt and pepper.

I like to add baby carrots and fresh sliced mushrooms to it, but, I didn't have any.

Thanks for sharing! I usually just add in beef broth and seasoning, but I bet the garlic and French onion soup adds some good flavor.

They do add flavor, it was the first time I ever used French Onion Soup and I am so glad I did. It turned out great and very tender.
