I prefer to bake my roast in the oven, but, I have made this recipe. I have tried many recipes for roasts in the crockpot. This is the best recipe I have ever tasted for making in a crockpot. It will make your home smell wonderful too.
To Die for Crock Pot Roast:
Ingredients:
1 beef roast, any kind...we don't like the round kind..we prefer the flat roasts
1-(1-1/4 oz.) pkg. dried brown gravy mix
1-(1-1/4 oz.) pkg. dried Italian Salad Dressing Mix
1-(1-1/4 oz.) pkg. dried Ranch Dressing Mix-I USE HIDDEN VALLEY DRY DRESSING MIX
1/2 cup water
Minced garlic
Onions, cut up
Potatoes, halved
Sliced Fresh Mushrooms
Sliced Carrots or baby carrots
Garlic, Minced
I put onions and garlic on the bottom of the crockpot and some on top of the roast
Put the vegetables on the bottom of the crockpot.
Mix the dried mixes together in a bowl and sprinkle over the roast.
Put the roast in the crockpot and sprinkle the dried mixes over it.
Pour the water around the roast.
Cook on low for 7--9 hours. I put it in around 6:30 a.m. and we eat around 8 p.m.
