Eric Crouch Has Advice For Husker QBHeisman Trophy Winner Also Had Rough Freshman Year
OMAHA, Neb. -- Second-year starting quarterback for the Huskers, Taylor Martinez, is searching for consistency and is getting some words of wisdom from former NU signal caller and Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch.
...
"The advice I could give him is that my freshman year didn't go so well either," Crouch said. "We lost four games. We went 9-4. The game will slow down for him. With the game slowing down, he'll think less about what he's doing out there and react more. I think that is what the coaches want him to do -- just react and be the athlete he is, because he is a tremendous athlete. He's one of fastest and strongest quarterbacks they've ever had at Nebraska."
"They have a different offense. They had a different offense last year and they have a different offense this year, so they have to find something for him and stay consistent and build your offense around a guy like that," Crouch said.
