Smith is in...this is huge...If you are not sure about how Illinois (politics) work, this is the biggest homerun hire that I can ever think of.

I would say that Lovie Smith is a much bigger name than Bill Cubit. If I was running Illinois, I would go after a guy like Smith. It could be a home run, or it could be a colossal failure. But, I don't think Illinois was going to do anything big under Cubit, other than beating Nebraska.
