D-Line

Going into this season we kept hearing that our D-line was supposed to be the strength of the entire team, and in 3 games, they have struggled to put any pressure on the QB. It's going to be a long season if we just allow QB's all the time in the world to pick apart our inferior secondary.

Collins is mostly hype. I think he just benefited from Gregory. McMullen flat out is too big and not talented. Freedom is young. Not that Valentine would have done anything anyway but the rest of the backups are also average.

We heard the DTs were the strength of the team. Kinda glossed over the big, glaring weakness at defensive end. I agree with chamrocck.

But I thought people said Gregory took too many plays off and that he wouldn't be that missed this year.I hate "people".

I have seen a lot of over hyped things in football over the years. And I have to say. Our d line scares nobody.

McMullen isn't getting any push or pressure. I hate to bag on the players because they are just kids but we need better talent at end, lb, and probably DT too.

I said all summer that the d-line would miss Gregory. People then responded that he only played hard in 3 games and the D would be ok. Yes, Gregory missed a few games due to injury, but when he played he was still a stud out there. Even if the "wasn't trying", he still demanded double and triple teams which, freed up the rest of the d-line to make plays.

NU is seeing what it's like to not play with a future NFLer at DE.

Our DLine, as it stands, couldn't get penetration even if they gave them roofies. They are being pushed around like tackling dummies.

GM should be a 3-4 DE or 4-3 DT. Ends in this scheme need some level of quickness.

Haha this is true. Gotta keep Freedom away from McMullens McDonalds.

Be interesting to see what they do with McMullen next year...would rather get some young athletes in there (Freedom, Davis, Neal, JUCO?). Been rather unimpressed with DT (DE too but expected that).

Sharp and Benning both questioned McMullen's effort and I'd have to agree. Came over weight and has been invisible on the field so far
