This weekend’s games are the first of a schoolrecord

state on the Pinnacle Sports Network (check local

station for broadcast availability) and also available on

the Internet at Huskers.com. In addition, fans can also

watch the action live on the Internet on HuskersNside, a

subscription video site which will carry nearly 50 regularseason

games live in 2006.

Nebraska comes off a solid weekend performance,

going 2-1 at the Rice Invitational, posting victories over

Texas State (10-3) and St. John’s (12-4) sandwiched

around a 3-2 loss to No. 4 Rice. On the weekend, the

Huskers got the bats going, hitting .364 as a team on the

weekend after setting season highs in both runs and hits

(18) in Sunday’s win over the Red Storm.

The Huskers moved slightly in the national polls,

dropping to fourth in Collegiate Baseball, while also being

ranked seventh (NCBWA), 11th (Sports Weekly) and 23rd

(Baseball America.

This weekend’s tournament will provide a stern test

for the Big Red, as both the Fighting Irish and Wildcats

reached regionals a year ago, while Minnesota is

annually in contention for the Big Ten title. This is

Nebraska’s fourth appearance in the DQ Classic, as NU

has gone 4-5 in its three previous appearances.

Huskers up early 1-0 over Arizona. Luke Gorsett who hit for the cycle yesterday started the 2nd inning off with another bomb.

Husker and 'zona still 1-1....Watson has settled down the past few innings to strike out 7 through 6.

BTW, you could go to Huskers.com and listen live to the game.

A win over the Gophers will round out a nice sweep for the Skers this weekend. I can't wait to get out to the park on Friday!

BTW, everyone knows we're in for some NASTY weather, right? Happens every year, Huskers are gone the first few weeks and weather in Lincoln is awesome, and when the come home for that first series we get either freezing temps or snow......Hope I'm wrong!!!!
