This is an exciting hire. Finally the QBs on the roster will get actual coaching from someone that knows the position. Anxious to see what he can do in the recruiting trail as well.

Side story...Nebraska's apparent new OC, Danny Langsdorf, donated a kidney to the wife of Nebraska's new OL coach in 2007, saving her life.

Here's the most recent write up of that event. Laurie Cavanaugh is the sister of Kevin Gilbride, longtime NFL coach. http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/giants/giants-quarterbacks-coach-danny-langsdorf-saved-kevin-gilbride-s-sister-s-life-1.7312391
Didn't realize he had a tie to Gilbride, Coughlin's long time OC before this year. Makes sense though. Whether he calls plays or not, excited to have him working with the QBs.

Riley is hiring assistants he formerly worked with ("friends"). I guess the difference between Bo and Riley is the fact that Riley has so much more experience and contacts that his social network includes a wider berth of experienced assistants. Good hire.

Why did he leave the staff in 2013 at Oregon St.
Apparently had some connections to the Giants:

Langsdorf, 41, served on the New Orleans Saints' coaching staff with Ben McAdoo, the new Giants offensive coordinator, in 2004. At the time, Langsdorf was the assistant wide receivers/special teams coach and McAdoo was an offensive assistant. Langsdorf donated a kidney in 2007 to Laurie Cavanaugh, OSU offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh's wife and the sister of recently retired Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride.
