Danny Woodhead

He's a hack... just kidding. I played against him in high school, the kid definitely has game...

Woodhead tacked on another 245 yards rushing in their final regular season game to finish the season undefeated at 11-0 and raised his season rushing total to 2488. CSC has a first round bye in the DIV II playoff and if they were to make it to the championship game, woodhead would have 4 more games to play as a junior, averaging 226 yards a game this season, he could potentially grab another 904 yards on this season bring his season total to 3392 yards in a single season! The single season record is 2653. His career total is now at 6097 with the record being 6958. Tack on another 904 yards and he could finish his junior year with 7001 yards! He could potentially break the single season rushing record, career rushing , and many other records at the end of his junior year with another year yet to play. Now of course they could not make it to the finals, but he will, barring any serious injury, eclipse both these records by an almost insurmountable amount as well as many other records. To think, he could surpass the career rushing record in all of college football at the end of his junior year is unthinkable! Woodhead is a legend in the making.

Eagles complete regular season at 11-0

Danny Woodhead ran for 252 yards and four touchdowns on Saturday to lead Chadron State to a 43-17 victory over West Texas A&M in the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. Woodhead became the single season rushing leader in all of college football history with 2,740 yards besting the old record of 2653 set by Kevin Gailliard of American International in 1999. Woodhead should have no problem furthering his record as CSC progresses through the DIV II Playoffs. Link

ESPN had an article about him breaking the record but they had the game stats from Montana State up there with it.

Too bad the ride for this year is over. His team lost in the playoffs 28-21 as Woodhead was held to 16 yds on 16 carries.

He'll get to improve on his numbers next year as a senior.
