dave rimmington for ad?

Kinda weird, but my mom always tells me that she was the flower girl at the wedding of Dave Rimington's parents - sort of a weird indirect relative somehow. I've never met that part of the family, though.

Can you imagine the effect of bringing Rimington in, even on an interim basis? Not much more Husker Tradition than that.

I think they need to hire the best available people, regardless of what their Husker pedigree looks like. It doesn't take a former player to make a good AD. Pederson cut his teeth in the Nebraska system in the 90s, and look how he turned out. He didn't understand the Husker tradition at all.

I have no idea what Rimington's credentials are, but that's for Perlman to evaluate. Why doesn't everybody just go play some Wii or Halo 3 in the meantime, then? Or maybe play catch with your kids or something? We'll still need receivers in 10-20 years, so how about you guys get on that?

I'm going to have to disagree on this one - I think Husker pedigree is exactly what we need right now - the bigger the better. I do agree that it doesn't take a former player to make a good AD, but I think it takes a good Husker pedigree to really understand what the Husker Family is all about...you know, I might have just talked myself out of this - maybe it DOES take a former player - after all, Stevie P had a long Husker pedigree and just didn't get it done. Maybe only a former player will really "get it" in that position...

I do like the thought of Rimington, though...
