It has a alot to do with what scheme theyre in. First of all, the d-lines in cerain situations is NOT to penetrate and try to wreak havoc, but rather make contact with the o-line and sustain that contact enuff to keep them off the scraping linebackers. The d-line is to the linebackers as the o-line is to the qb's and rb's.

Agreed. As you saw in the second half of the WKU game, Bo pulled the reins back and wanted the backers to get experience making reads and making plays. So he changed the scheme up a bit and wanted them to eat up blockers, and not so much penetrait and get to the ball carrier/QB. Pierre will get his fair share of sacks this year along with Cam.

 
Obviously we're seeing that Suh was basically 2 players. It's like he was a down lineman and a linebacker. I am totally confident that the coaches will have our best defensive front ready very soon. With 4 down linemen and using on 2 (undersized) linebackers you're going to give up some running.

 
I loved the way the Dline played. I thought the defense all together was pretty good. Just need some improvement. Offensive Turnovers is what Im concerned about.

 
Consider this... we are only starting one senior in our front six. Four of those six are first time starters. They looked pretty good against Idaho, and they are only going to better every single week, this year AND next year. Now that is a scary thought for opposing teams.

 
Their starter had 67 rushing yards for the game and half of those came on the drive right before half when the D had been on the field for 9 minutes straight. What more do you want? 0 rushing yards? Our D line played really well.

 
I'm not worried about the defense at all, consistency on offense concerns me the most mainly Niles Paul problem of keeping the ball in his hands but that's for another thread.
