Dejon Gomes and Lavonte David

The Dude

Heisman Trophy Winner
Both of these guys had a pretty big day yesterday. "Mustard Man" Dejon Gomes picked off a Drew Brees pass and nearly returned it for a TD late in the Saints - Redskins game, which pretty much decided the game.

Lavonte David called the defense and led the Bucs in tackles in their win over Carolina. Calling the plays as a rookie is kind of a big deal, I think. It shows the trust they have in him to be the leader of that defense.

Congratulations to both of them.

I watched the Tampa game, lavonte is going to be a beast, had a few missed tackles, outside of that, a very solid game...I started him in one of my idp fantasy leagues

Gomes interception. Video quality isn't too hot. But you can see Gomes make a great play on the ball. :thumbs :

great to hear for both these guys.

I was surprised to see that Roy Helu had only 2 carries. What is up with that?

As for Helu, his problem is he isn't a rookie anymore. As we know, Shanahan starts a different rookie every year, the more undrafted, the better.
I don't think there's any excuses. Morris won that job, fair and square. He was a beast in preseason, whereas Helu and Royster were fairly pedestrian.

Also saw that Suh had a sack...

I was also surprised to see Helu on the sidelines. But, if the Skins don't want him, I'm sure another team will give up a decent trade for him.
