Chi Trib learns B1G interested in putting #Northwestern in East. Cats want to stay West w/rivals #Illini, Iowa, Wis, Neb. Better 4 fans.

Delany being stupid

Oh, man. I hope NW stays in our Div. That's a great game for me to attend. Another excuse to visit Chi-Town.

If you are going to have one team in the west playing in the east, Northwestern would be the best option because Chicago would be the easiest to fly into for the eastern schools, especially for traveling fans. Schools like Maryland and Rutgers are going to find it easier to travel to Chicago then say Madison. That would be my guess for the reasoning. Of course if we add NC or GT or Virginia, they will get put back in the west anyways,

Ya, dont wanna miss chance to get to go to Chicago every other year. Definitely the best place to go in the B1G.

I have also heard about Michigan going to the other division and we would be getting Wisconsin and Illinois.

I cant see them moving UM out of the same division as Mich Lite. But, i wouldnt have an issue losing Mich if we get Wisky and Illinios.

That's the word going around.

Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Northwestern(that's why this Chicago Tribune thing shocks me) and sparty(instead of turdue)

That's what it should be until they start adding GIT, UNC, UVA, etc.

I wouldn't mind that, sounds like a pretty decent chance of us winning the division a lot

This article talks about it in detail and the most likely division alignments : http://www.chicagotr...story?dssReturn

Most interesting tidbit in this article? "Some sources within the Big Ten believe the conference won't stop expanding until it hits 18."

I believe it. I thought 16 was the goal like so many but after looking at so many predictions it's definitely not.

I think the next steps go

1. Add two of the three here. GIT, UVA and UNC. get to 16

2. See if ND asks into the conference since the ACC falls apart without their prized Public schools. A very good source says the Big Ten will no longer ask ND to the Big Ten. ND will have to make first contact.

3. If ND doesn't budge then go after Kansas and/or Texas along with the other third of the ACC trio. getting to 18 or 19(also leaving a spot for ND at 20)

This could mean from Denver to New York down to Atlanta would be Big Ten territory.
