Depressing Day

Losing Deas was a bit expected, but Palmer too?

:WTH

Looks like a pretty dull day for Big Red. Yippee.

PS - I am a pessimist at heart. So take my moaning with a grain of salt.

Didnt see Palmer issue coming. Deas was iffy. I figured B. Pelini would trash us and I am sure he did.

hey guys. don't know the stories...whats the issue here? is palmer not going to qualify?
Check out his 2006 recruit thread. Rivals is saying that he signed with Washinton??????

I'm sure that Washington wouldn't allow AP to sign a LOI if they thought that it wasn't kosher. From the sounds of posts from a competing board, AP wanted to get enrolled in school this Spring and it didn't happen here, so he sought greener pastures. Perhaps his LOI with Nebraska was nonbinding because he was unable to get enrolled at NU, or maybe BC released him from his LOI, so that the young man could get a decent chance of starting next season somewhere else. Who knows...it's purely speculation. It all will be explained soon enough. I just wish Palmer the best.

Losing Deas was heartbreaking. I really was hoping we'd get him.

Yah, the day hasn't gone as well as it could have.

Depressed? This is freakin Christmas!!!
You're right...it's all about perspective. We have a very solid class this year. The best in the B12 North, according to the "experts".

Wonder if we will end up cracking the top 20 in terms of recruiting classes this year. Last I saw, we were hanging unto the #20 ranking (rivals) before Palmer decided to bolt.

You gotta be kidding me. this is hardly depressing! We have a great class!! Let's welcome new class.

This thread is silly if you ask me. Are we really that spoiled that since we didn’t get these two guys this is a bad day? Our average from both major websites is 3.27 :star . In my opinion that is pretty good. Actually with the loss of Palmer our average went up on one of them. I wouldn’t consider either of these two to be make or break players. Would it have been nice to have them? Sure. But come on, we filled our needs and put together a nice class.

i quite agree, Deas wasn't coming anyway.......let's be happy with these guys, get a better season under our belts and next year move up the recruiting ladder......

we will be fine.......spring practice right around the corner........

We have an average class on paper. Which don't mean much but thats what it is. Last year's class was supposedly amazing and it turned out to just be average to maybe a tad above average. Jucos are big risks.

Yeah, two freshman all americans, a starting quarterback, two contributers at i-back and dt, one at cornerback and a starting right tackle at the end of the year... Find a team that played that many newcomers who went 8-4. Must have been a real horrible class. :sarcasm
