This thread is in memory of a Des Moines Police Lieutenant who passed away today from complications of a stroke that he suffered a few days ago while working off-duty. Lt. Bowen had been a member of the Metro S.T.A.R. Team or SWAT just recently and I worked with him off and on. As many of you know I am a member of this unit. It was a shock to learn of this stroke and apparently it was very severe. I have peace in knowning that he didn't die by the hand of a criminal and that he will not have to live a life of suffering. RIP brother in blue and watch over us from above. We will keep things safe down here and keep watch over your family. Tell SPO Officer Sean Wissink hello for all of us and we will see you seen brother.

Sucks when we loose anyone were close to. I had a coworker i was close to pass away recently. Just isnt the same with out him. Good Luck BRI. Peace be with him and his family.

Some of the best go far too soon. God has a mission for him in heaven. Prayers go out to his family, and my God bless all of our young men and women who stand in harms way on a daily basis.
