Differences between TX and OU

Crick's been quiet the past couple weeks. Anyone else notice? Hopefully he'll come out balls to the walls against UT. Our D as a whole needs to make a big statement next weekend.
teams may have just adjusted and given him the respect he deserves instead of just focusing on SUH.
True. Ever since the KU game, our D as a whole has been challenged. I think the opposing teams are figuring us out. I hope we can change that for UT though?
i think our best chance is playing with a lot of passion. it is hard to say what The Brothers Pelini are concocting in their little minds right now.

I can only imagine what it must be like in the Pelini household this week. Up all night studying film, brainstorming schemes, etc.

Bo probably has Carl locked up in a spare bedroom in his house this week with lots of caffeine on hand. LOL

they should try getting a Red Bull sponsorship. except UNL is a pepsi school, so maybe Amp'd.

Why not just patent their own brand of energy drinks called Pelini Punch. I can already see the jingle:

"If you get pissed off easily, then crank it up a notch with Pelini Punch."

Aside from the standard offense/defense, special teams will have to have a great game. Henery must be able to put the ball out of bounds and keep it away from Shipley. Adi must kick it to the back of the endzone on kickoff's. Our coverage teams must play sound and not let Shipley bust one loose. Shipley is a very dangerous returner.

The difference IMO is the offenses. UT has been putting up big numbers and scoring at will. Our defense will have to have a HUGE impact on this game. Adi and Henery will need to come through and destroy the special teams/field position battle.

That being said I just have a feeling that UT is going to come into this game tentatively as they look to not screw up as they attempt to effortlessly slide into the title game. NU playing spoiler is a role not too familiar from what I remember but we are also playing for a BCS bowl spot.

The differences between TX and OU? TX hasn't lost to us yet this year, and OU has. :)

I agree that Texas should be favored to win, however you must realize that these are kids in their teens and early 20's playing next weekend. NU isn't taking on the reigning Superbowl champions, where sheer skill usually trumps emotion. Emotion is a huge factor in college football, and it could very well play into next week's game. A Texas defender stumbles or momentarily blows his coverage and someone like Paul could have a 70 yard TD run in a heartbeat. Perhaps Texas fumbles on its own 3 after Henery pinned them deep. Stuff happens, which is why we play the games instead of just awarding someone a winner beforehand.

While it is okay to be realistic about our chances, I'm not going to be a big downer all week, and I suggest that others save the crying for after the game. Just remember this: There was NO WAY that Iowa State was going to come to Lincoln and beat us. It is a good thing for Iowa State that we actually played the game instead of just giving us the win. Its funny how things work out sometimes.......

Texass is a lot better than people here are giving them credit for. Our defense has been asked to shoulder the load week after week and I don't think they've been able to recover from the OU game where they put it all on the line. Texas won't be overlooking us as they did in 07. This team is focused and their game at A&M only showed that their defense can be hurt by talented recievers and a scrambling qb with nice accuracy (we have neither). Baring some extreme circumstances (lots of turnovers and big special teams play from us) we are in for some trouble.
