Do we want David Oku??

Ship sailed along time ago with David, which is unfortunate. Kid has alot of baggage and fell into a trap that no one deserves (lane kiffin).

Really? I did notsee this one yet. If his grades are in line I would actually say maybe. The kid had some serious moves and game in high school. However, he always had kinda a prima donna attitude that ate up the spot light. Something, granted, that the majority of all teenagers would do.

Hmm........I seriously have to think this one out before adding more. Interesting.

Oku has already played two years for the Vols, right? And he'd need to sit out a year? How much could he contribute? Maybe a good candidate for an invited walk-on.

Theirs simply one answer....... NO!

Surprising thoughts so far. Where are those(not saying it was any of you guys so far) that would welcome the likes of Tate Forcier? Or those beggin for Robert Marve? Or those that wanted one year out of a Duke point guard. I would love for those members to chime in on this one.

Difference being those mentioned didnt shun us the first time around. IIRC Oku was recruited by us and even came to High School in Lincoln and then choose Tenn.

I would take him redshirt him i do believe he has one still and and he can learn the system and could help out with the depleteing depth at runningback

If I recall NU was in the discussion but in no way did he "shun" NU. I believe the Lincoln East thing was it being one of those met a girl things on his visit, "reportedly" girl got knocked up(a lot of speculation over this one, I won't side one way or the other), and East offered classes that he needed to graduate in the spring that many high schools didn't. The last thing seemed really deep, but I believe several articles actually proved. I also believe NU wasn't really in the picture that much when he did come to Lincoln. It may have opened the door a little back in NU's favor, but wasn't gonna matter, so no, I don't buy the "he shunned NU" reason.

My point, about Marve, Forcier, and Teabag was more to the fact that all have the same eligibilty or even less. Forcier and Marve to an extent were not overly popular on their teams. And Teabag hadn't played football in four years. Yet all were willing to welcome them. Oku, probably got his college reality check in Knoxsville, learning there are actually many big fish in the pond and may have checked his ego in when he leaves.

Finally, if Bo was going to give the TE from Washington a second chance. A kid that had been in trouble with his coaches for reasons from attitude, to failed drug tests. Why not give Oku one. Hell he'd probably contribute more to the discussion than all of RB options 3,4, and 5 combined both on and off the field.
