Do you consider yourself a Husker Homer??

Great question!

Homer? Hell no. Bias opinion? Sure sometimes. I am loyal and love the Huskers no matter what. But I know when we suck, or the coaches screw up, or the talent isnt good enough, or when an opponent is clearly better, etc., and have no trouble acknowledging it.

I just dont see our fans as homers. I think our fans are much more than that.

I root for the team, and say "we" when talking about us, :lol: but don't consider myself a homer. Like Adison said, I know when the talent isn't good enough, and will voice my opinion.

 
I am certainly a connected, concerned, emotionally attached fan of NU, but I am not blinded by the scarlet colored glasses. I will call a spade a spade.

 
I have not ever figured out how to read my pre game emotions.I'm right a tot, but We've gotten kicked when I was really confident, as well as winning on occasion when I was nervous and skeptical.

 
Is there a definition of 'homer' I'm not aware of? I've always understood it to mean a hardcore, lifelong fan. I would've thought we were all Husker homers.

 
I say we roll them! We've had our tickets for almost a year, and I'm stoked! I'm more worried about the crips than the trojans!

By definition, a homer is a person who makes biased, irrational judgements about a subject or in this case a team. I resemble that!

I'm out here in Texas, and when I hear these dudes saying they are better than Ohio State and should have won that game, Ohio State sucks, etc, I immediately think "idiot homers". I think our fans hurt when we lose, but wont be in denial just because we love our Huskers. Rooting for them with passion and following them makes us fans. And we're loyal. And very knowledgeable of other teams. And give credit were it's due. Humility I guess. Damn, we clap for the other team when they leave the field regardless of the score. A homer wont do that. Just great, great, great big red fans!

I will support this team through thick and thin, but if they aren't doing well I'll stand by them regardless!!!! However; I along with thousands of other Husker faithfuls can feel the tide changing and the momentum is definately changing in Husker land!!!! :thumbs

 
I think all of us have to admit to be a little "homer," but most of us are also realists and educated college football fans. Man, I love being a Husker. I cannot wait for this weekend.
