Why does everyone in the national media have to perceive that the Big 10 move was based "solely" football and unability to beat Texas. I am so sick of reading this cuz we all know and common sense says that it is far deeper than that.

It's a story that sells. That's the 100% bottom line. The "news" is a commodity that the media attempts to get us to buy. Sensational stories with a WOW! factor sell better than stories about numbers, and the concept that Nebraska threw a hissy fit and stomped off from the Big 12 because we got "screwed" by Big Bad Texas puts a lot more eyeballs on a TV screen, a computer monitor, a magazine or a newspaper than a story about Nebraska making a well-reasoned and well-thought-out move to a conference that offers us a better deal economically, educationally and culturally.
The sad fact is that the story doesn't even have to be true or even partially accurate anymore. The days of "journalistic integrity," at least as pertains to the larger media outlets, are long gone. An organization that once employed Walter Cronkite has to sink so very, very low to employ the likes of a Dennis Dodds that it goes beyond merely selling their soul - they've entirely abrogated their integrity.
On a side note, if anyone would like to know how to start a thread that has little or no merit, impact or credibility, be sure to start it with some form of the words, "Dennis Dodds said __________."

Me too. I think our secondary would be salivating over the thought of facing Moore. He floats a lot of ball up there, much like Matt Leinart.
