Don't know if it's Bo being at the right place at the right time or what...

Nexus

All-American
but he's coached some of the finest D-linemen in the business over the past few years. I hope to see this trend continue while he's at NU.

When he was at LSU, he coached a beast named Glenn Dorsey. Anybody remember him?

2007 Bronko Nagurski Winner

2007 Lombardi Winner

2007 Outland Winner

2007 Lott Trophy Winner

2007 SEC Defensive Player Of The Year

2x First Team All-American

2x First Team SEC

Our boy Suh is up for all of those same awards and more. Them Pelini boys must be spiking the defense's Gatorade cooler because coaching 2 certified defensive beasts who are winning major awards 2 years apart from each other is rare these days.

It seems like Pelini accomplishes so much in so little time with defenses. We all remember what that was like in 2003 when he was DC at NU. But check this out.

DC at LSU (2005-2007) All-American Glenn Dorsey

HC at NU (2008-2009) All-American Ndamukong Suh

Gotta love it.

before that? Anyone? Did he recruit any of them? Very impressive.
That's what makes it all the more impressive in the case of Dorsey & Suh. They're not Pelini recruits. It just goes to show how quickly he can influence and mold young players into All-Americans in such a short amount of time.

It's Bo and Carl taking unrealized potential and turning it into All American result!

I love Bo! Bo is my favorite coach to date! I love his attitude, I love his strategy, I love his willingness to get in BIG XII Comissioner's grill and tell him what he thinks! BO RULES!

Too bad the field wasn't wet when Suh threw McCoy. I would have loved to see McCoy slide all the way to the seats, hit his head and have the lump raise his helmet up and spin on his head. Like a cartoon.

Love the sig

I have to say that after this season of seeing our Defense mature and elevate their level of play, Bo Pelini has changed the way I watch football these days. He makes me excited to watch our D take the field the same way T.O. did with the O.

@ HSKRNOKC

Thanks.

Welcome to the right side of football. :)

I've always been more interested in defense than offense. Maybe because defense appeals to primal instincts more, maybe because it's so much fun watching a guy get lit up - don't know. All I know is, from my days as a young knapplc I've always liked the Blackshirts more than the offense.

See my mindset was always "offenses score, defenses contain."

Don't get me wrong though, I've paid plenty of attention to our Blackshirt tradition through the years. But I've matured and grown to love how Pelini has instilled the kind of blue collared attitude back into what was once a great tradition.
