Who ever the new coach is he will not have 100% approval of NU fans. No other coach ever has.
Most of T.O.s first 20 years, many Huskers fans were highly critical of him, he came within one game of being fired in the mid 70s and even in the early 90s there were rumblings of him getting the ax, after Bill Byrne first came to Nebraska. When he interviewed for the Colorado job there were a long list of people who would have helped him move, and he routinely had for sale signs put up in his front yard, as well as having his mail box blown up once.
Bob Devaney had a petition started to get him fired after two 6-4 seasons, and Charlie McBride had one for him in the early 90s as well.
