Downtown Game Day Food Options w Young Kids

Walk-on
Going to the NIU game (7 pm) with my 3 kids, 7, 7, and 4. Trying to figure out lunch and dinner options. In the past I recall running into places with limited game day menus, with little or no kids menu.

Any suggestions? I think Old Chicago keeps their full kids menu available on game days, but wasn't sure about other places. We were thinking of having a pizza delivered to the embassy suites for dinner if that's an option.

Thanks!

Might have to give specifics on what all options you're open to. Chipotle is downtown now and they have a kids menu, technically. Good call on Old Chicago - I'd just call them to confirm the 'kids menu on Saturdays' thing.

We were hoping for a sit down restaurant where we could have a drink or two. Some place with mac and cheese, grilled cheese, or pizza for the kids.

Places with kid-friendly options

In the Haymarket/Railyard area:

Lazlo's

Brewsky's

Mellow Mushroom

BurgerFi

Buffalo Wings & Rings

Leadbelly

Further east, downtown:

Misty's

Blaze Pizza

Panda Express

Honest Abe's Burgers & Freedom

Buzzard Billy's has a good kids menu and is available on game days (in the past).  There is an Arbys, Amigos, Wendy's, Raising Canes all off 14th and P.  Brewsky's might be an option if you get chicken strips.  On O street there is a Pepper Jax grill too.  As others have said, lots of stuff in the Haymarket area but you will be dealing with a lot of people.  First night game, the downtown area will be packed.

If you are staying at the Embassy, the courtyard will be packed by close to noon.  They will have a small food menu for $ that starts mid-afternoon for a night game and it will be located in the location where you get your omelets in the morning.

When I take my fam to a game and we stay there on the Friday night I normally order Toppers pizza and I walk a block and a half to pick it up and walk it back, then we eat at a table in the courtyard.  If you wanted pizza for lunch no reason why you can't just do that.  And remember you will get 4-5 drink tickets/person if you are staying there.
