Can anyone explain to me why my new VHS to DVD dubber is formatting my DVD's and then shutting off about 20 seconds later? Also, I had 5 games on my DVR that I recorded to DVD just fine, now, when I try to record games from the DVR to DVD it says that I can't record copyrighted material? I can still record games to VHS though! I didn't have this copyright problem until this year...what gives???

Most likely encrypted digital content. Whats your full setup? (Cable/Sat. provider, set-top box brand/model, DVD recorder brand/model, etc.) Give us the full scoop.

Thanks for responding. I have Directv going into a Directv HD DVR hooked to a Sony RDR-VX560 Video Cassette Recorder/DVD Recorder.

If the games are encrypted, why could I record last years Gator Bowl from my DVR to DVD?
