That or they get different tape than TV broadcast. All 22 shot plush I'm sure they have other angles to watch. How do they figure these grades out? I would think someone would have to be there in person. How do you grade a safety if you don’t know what’s going on off camera?
I think Ozigbo will make itDo we end up with some names on end of year All Big Ten teams this year? I think it was just Stanley last year if I remember right?
That'd be a welcome change from last year. Small step in the right direction.I think Ozigbo will make it

I had the same question as Moiraine so it seems like it would be a FAQ, yet it’s not on their FAQ list. I emailed them asking if they use only film that is broadcast or if they have access to other film. If they don’t respond then I think it’s safe to assume they only use what is broadcast and their grading should be taken FWIW.That or they get different tape than TV broadcast. I'm pretty sure any of us can access an all 22 shot. There are so many cameras filming during any given game and they actually broadcast different views on another channel sometimes.I had the same question as Moiraine so it seems like it would be a FAQ, yet it’s not on their FAQ list. I’m cynical so my thinking is that a clever money-making scheme would be set up a website and with minimal resources pass out grades to various players. The fans of those teams will love seeing their players grading out well and pay money for you to tell them more. There are what 130 FBS teams and they’re using films from multiple cameras to evaluate a large number of players? That’s a lot of eyeballs that aren’t free. To avoid getting into trouble the key is never claim that your analysis is thorough.I wouldn't be sure of the bolded part whether they respond or not, but no metric is perfect. Seems like they account for a lot of things standard metrics and stats ignore, but I'm sure there are things they miss. Fun to look at in any case, and I think it's accurate enough that more players on the list means we are in fact playing better.
Maybe I’ll ask a follow up question about how many people they have doing the grading.
I think your question about uniformity in grading might be covered in articles in the “Player Grading” section. This is what I'm curious about. They get those grades done pretty fast considering how many games there are to look at. How many people are on each game and how they keep all the graders on the same page about what to give credit or demerit for.
Thanks for the info.
